Project 18

Team up with Project 18.

Indiana has a serious problem with overweight kids — and studies show that if kids don’t change their behavior when they’re young, they’ll most likely always have trouble with their weight. That means a lifetime of health risks.

That’s why I want to do something about childhood obesity right now — and why I’d like to introduce you to Project 18: a program created for you by Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St.Vincent in partnership with Marsh Supermarkets and Ball State University. We’ve developed a program to help kids and their parents set goals, eat smarter, and get active — and we’d love for your school to get involved.

Project 18 is an 18-week health and wellness curriculum designed to address the major risk behaviors in elementary school students in the areas of nutrition, physical activity, and holistic (body, mind and spirit) health. The curriculum is standards-based, addressing the performance indicators for all eight Indiana Health and Wellness Standards.

I’d like to personally invite you to get involved with Project 18. Please take a moment to send us an email or call us at 317-338-KIDS (5437) if you’d like to use the program in your school. We’ll give you everything you need to help fight childhood obesity — and create a brighter, healthier future for kids across Indiana.

Sincerely,
